as title says on the way to work sunday morning, i slid on spilt diesel going round a island at roughly 15-20mph back end swung out and rear passenger wheel bounced off the curb, i pulled up checked wheel just slight scuffing and car drove ok.

but now the more and more i look at it i think ive damaged the rear axel i took some pics but cant really tell

opinions please or worst case scenerio ?

No they cant, but there will be a standard angle that the rear wheels should be, if its out you've probably bent the stub axle pin.

A picture straight from the back would be good, so we can see both wheel angles.

That's in better condition than mine. (I hate Peugeot for not selling the genuine stub on it's own).

Track it because a sudden change in the rear geometry will have to be accounted for at the front.

tried comparing from rear but cant really tell doesnt help they different tires on back took 2 pics not the best as i'm blocked on drive, an my sis gone out an took keys with her Rolling Eyes

 
 


ps i know it needs a wash and yeah my exhaust is in need of new rubbers

quick update, needed new brakes all round, didnt mention anything to the mechanic bout rear wheel as the more i looked at it the more it looked ok but he pointed out that its slightly out, so my eyes were decieving me, need to get this done now asap so are we talking new stub pin or a refurb'd axle ?

an what parts required would help lads cheers

New Axle would work out cheaper and easier probably. Have you had any tyre wear?

google sp engineering, they did mine.

nope, no tyre wear at all , he said its only slightly out an doesnt cause any problems driving, its just nagging at me now cause i know its gotta be done

are you on drums on the back? I have done the same thing twice! Found that i have split the case that the bearing were in. It was so bad (i thought it was fine) that the garage would not let me have the car back until they had fixed it! So get it checked out! Smile

its a gti so disc set up tbh i dunno what i'm looking for seen couple rear axle on ebay but it depends on how reliable they are
