Just bought a Galletto 1260 off ebay

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320...1439.l2649

I was trying to read the ECU of my 206 2.0 Hdi using the software.
The plan was to buy a stage 2 map from pro_steve When i click the read ecu button i get error -1 and the ecu read fails.

Hope someone has some ideas on this i have tried several times and get the same error every time.

Diesels only became EOBD compliant in 2004. If your car is pre 2004, then the protocols may not work with the software that you have.

I use the Elm327 and Palmer Performance software. Used it on a 2000 diesel with no problems.
Somewhere I have a diagram of which pins should be connected for ISO VPW or PWM. You may be able to change the settings in the software. I'll dig it out tomorrow and post it up.

Check in the software settings to make sure that your protocol is set for ISO. It may be different with a programming lead, but worth a try.
I would have thought it would adjust automatically for the vehicle it is connected to, but not having used the software, I couldn't tell you.

I'd also try it on XP as the advert says

This tool also requires Windows XP 32bit or earlier - while it may work, we do not support it on Vista or Windows 7 or on any 64bit operating systems.

So at a guess it won't work on Windows 8

I'm sure I read somewhere Galetto requires Windows XP. If you have access to an XP laptop give that a go first. I am guessing you have the EDC15C2 ECU? If so all should work...

If your local to Macclesfield (long shot I know haha) your welcome to have a go with my KWP2000 that I use to read/write my 2.0 with
