Hello all, ok. My car does this randomly.
I can accelerate and all of a sudden there is no power. It did it this morning on a slight (very slight) hill incline, but its done it before on the flats and downhill.
I was in 3rd Gear going about 40mph and i knocked it into 4th and had NO acceleration. I could FLOOR the accelerator and nothing would happen. Put it in 5th and the same, but if i put my foot on the clutch i can rev it still all the way to 6-7k revs fine.
Sometimes it will do it without even gear changing, just plodding along in 5th gear and all of a sudden, no power, almost feels like someone is puling my car back. I recently changed the Spark plugs and replaced the coil pack to see if that fixed it but, no fix. Sometimes it can last just a second or two, other times it goes on for a few mins. Bit embarrassing when Im going 35-45 mph in a 60 and im making a queue!
I'm getting no engine light come on, its not going into limp mode. I had a guy check and no codes are being produced.
It's completely random too, sometimes it can be a week and not do it once. Others it can do it every other day....
Its got oil, coolant, spark plugs are fine, injectors seem to be ok. Sometimes i get a whiff of petrol when i start the engine and get out my car. but that goes straight away..
Any possible ideas???

well it's 1.4,8v and as far as what you said,I think you have a problem with your Thorttle Position Sensor (TPS),as it's the sensor responsible on giving the ECU the reading on the way you are driving, and how much you are pressing on the throttle,so it give the right amount of fuel injection and all things related to speeding or not.
