Just back from 2 wks holiday ( car was fine prior to this) and then cut out randomly for the first time today. From researching the net looks like a common problem but could be many reasons. Can anyone shed any further light on it p,ease and is it best to take to Peugeot for diagnostics rather than my usual (cheaper) mechanic if it's a known problem? It cut out randomly with the dash lights appearing, but re starts immediately. When left running in neutral it struggles to continue, splutters then gives up the ghost. 03 plate.
Any advice would be appreciiated.

Which engine?
No point someone going on about coilpacks and plugs if it's a diesel.

First place I would look, is between the engine and gearbox.
There's an earth connection between the two and it's very common for this to work itself loose / snap completely due to it being too tight out of the factory.
