just change my spark plugs and cooling thermostat, switched on the engine and now i have a warning light, any ideas?

Check all plugs/connectors anywhere near you've been operating, Give them all an extra push to seat them, check for any loose wires.
Just a general engine warning light? No messages on the display?
Immediately or after driving a bit?
If the above doesn't do it I believe you need to get the error codes read to get a clearer idea of where the fault lies.

just the engine warning light with no messages, it came on Immediately as i started engine, cant see any loose connectors or wires

Diagnostic scan is your next step. No point anyone speculating on what could be one of the 100s of possibilities that could cause the light to illuminate.
