Hi all
I have a 206 1.1 that had ignition coil blew so RAC replaced that and ever since engine management light keeps on coming while driving or sometimes when started from cold. Garage has checked everything and pointed towards ECU testing. I would like to know if a second hand ecu, key and fusebox from a donor car work staright on my 206 or are there any codes involved.
There is nothing wrong with the car driving wise and runs perfect but it is annoying when light comes on when I put my foot on accelerator pedal to move on from 1st gear and light can also turn on when I give low to high revs couple of times above 3000rpm.
any suggestions please? thanks

Sounds alot like Idle Control Valve related.
Has the garage read the Codes on the ECU? When the engine management light comes on it will normally log a fault code.
The ECU, BSI (Fusebox) and key from another car will work but you will need to make sure it comes from the same engine and around the same year.

idle valve control seems fine as I unplug the connector rev goes mad but plug the connector back rev goes normal. I am looking at an ecu kit with inside fusebox and outside engine bay fusebox along with keys and locks going on ebay £50 posted all parts are from same car from same year as mine but with different part numbers?

Cant see why not.

If it's multi-plexed try and get the parts from a car with similar or lower mileage.
Also get the VIN from the donor car as you will need this to get the security code for future use.
You will find that depending on trim level, you get different options in the BSI. A basic 1.1 won't have as many functions as the higher spec, so some things may not work with a lower spec BSI. You may get lucky and be able to activate the options with PP2000, but not all options are always available. Depends how the BSI was programmed.

The inside one. You shouldn't need to change the engine bay fuse box unless it's had the corrosion problem.

Unlikely to be anything ecu related, just sounds like the garage have given up. Get the codes read, should be something stored. Check your connections on the coil pack etc, and check your spark plugs.

garage checked everything with their diagnostic and dealt with all the faults by changing parts. Had all fault codes read by RAC twice and they did their best too. at the end both garage and RAC pointed towards getting the ECU tested and take it from there. Ignition coil is brand new changed by RAC. Spart plugs are brand new too. Connections and wiring are all intact no breaks etc which has been checked by RAC and garage.

It's got to be a fueling issue or something related id say. Do you know what the fault codes were?

no sorry i dont know the codes. Rac and garage machines came up with injectors but garage ruled out as they checked every injector and they were fine. Car runs perfect no poor mpg or misfires or idle issues. the only way I can think of is changing te ecu and all associated parts and see if light comes on.

If say you need to look at your injectors then. Usually it will only be one, so disconnect them one by one and go for a drive. The one that you disconnect which doesn't make the car worse will be at fault. A good one disconnected will make it worse. If you could get it scanned with pp2000 you should be able to get more info on the fault.
I still doubt the ecu, not at all common to cause a fault like this, and especially if rac has said injectors. How did you garage test the injectors?

garage tested them by swapping positions and i did change injector no 3 on the cambelt side before car went to the garage as RAC machine came up with no 3 injector fault so I managed to get a brand new sealed injector on ebay for about £20 and car ran fine for few hours and the light came back on. its only when you give a good throttle / revs up and down and on some occasions while pulling away from from traffic lights in 1st gear while I give gas to move on. As long as i keep a gentle light foot on pedal light stays off.
