There is no engine light on but will have to give it another good clean with tooth brush this time.
Have to rev the gas on cold start to get it to idle properly.

I had this exact problem with my 206 xsi (electronic throttle also) a while back, it turned out to be the spark plugs really needed changing, and its been fine since, its worth a look.

Thanks Timon, yes i read it when it was suggested the ICV was at fault ,the throttle body is a shiny silver with one flap on mine and there isn't anything else to clean, i will put new spark plugs in to see if that makes any difference.

Update- replaced spark plugs and idling is better after initial slight splutter is this normal ?
Will the electronics/ecu learn to improve the start up.
Update--new spark plugs have sorted the problem, last years garage service probably did not change them, seems i have this 206 to maintain aswell now.

I have same car a2006 verve. It starts A1. However it will not tick over. I have changed plugs, air filter, water temp sender and thermostat ( and Lamda sensor) I don't have any EML on and no codes in memory.
Is yours still going ok ?
I am fed up of looking !

n17ele: have you cleaned the throttle body.
If you have it is time to get it on a code reader, clear the codes, drive it for a while and the re-read the codes.
Also check every small air pipe relateed to the intake and recirculating system for small leaks.

After fitting ngk sparkplugs it gave a rough idle but was advised to put Bosch in, so replaced with the Bosch yttrium FR7DC+ plugs it idled smooth after a while.
My daughter has just sold the car now for a grand and using the money towards a gap year in Australia.

Hi
Put car in for a peugeot diagnostic system which indicated the relay for the fan were not working. Managed to locate them and when went to remove them some of the connections had snapped off the relay, and the other wires had rotted back about 50mm ! Put new relays on and ------Diagnostic then came up with the MAP not working. Last straw now, a new MAP ordered. fingers crossed it will sort it. Can not be many more sensors on there !

I think plug change is recommended at 60,000 or 8 years. so a 2006 is now due unless it is a high miler.

It is a high miler, however, I assume you mean spark plugs ? That was first changed, along with air filter, water temp sender, thermostat, radiator fan relays, Lambda sensor and Map sensor.
Cant be much more to look at
