My car has been diagnosed with a intermittent misfire at idle changed spark plugs and coil pack but still the same has abybody got any ideas as to what is problem cheers

Could be a dodgy hydraulic lifter. Bit of a job to fix it because the cams and cam housing need to come off. At least you know what cylinder it is. So you just need to change four. Has it had an oil change recently?

That wont help the lifters stay healthy - unless it's only done a low mileage.

give it an engine oil flush,with a new oil and oil filter,and see how things goes,if not,then you have to get it checked again to see which cylinder have misfire,and then do what Edward said,which is working on the lifting valve.

They will know which cylinder has the problem and to not tell you when you've paid them isn't fair of them. Could also be dodgy injector wiring...

My 138 had an intermittent misfire on cylinder 2 and it turned out to be an injector. i replaced the injector myself (not a big job) and its running like a dream now.
I managed to pick up a new injector for £36 incl postage.

Mine advances timing on idle & jolts the car . This normal ?
Not had it with open throttle .
