Hi all,
the power steering fluid on my 2003 206 is leaking, not sure where but I think it might be coming from inside the power steering rack. been quoted 300-400 to get a new rack fitted and can't afford that 
anyone tried these stop leak products? they seem to have good reviews on amazon - www.amazon.co.uk/Lucas...roduct_top

I'm always dubious about products like this as i would see it as a bit of a botch and temporary repair. Although do appreciate that finding 300-400 would be difficult.
From the sounds of it you have no choice and if its already leaking, it isnt going to get any worse by giving it a try.

I would bother with that.
There is a seller on eBay that does an exchange of steering racks for a refurbished one.
You buy and they send you it then you organise a day to send the old one back once your new one is fitted.

going to see how badly it is leaking, if it only needs a litre of PSF every 2 weeks i might leave it and just keep topping it up, in case the stop leak wrecks the system

did you mean to say "I wouldn't bother with that"?
from what i understand most of the cost is from the labour of fitting a new one. i guess every penny counts if it saves money!

The stop leak products do work if used properly.
Radweld has been around for years and has kept many a car on the road.
Last year I had a suspected head gasket leak so bout some K-seal to tie me over to keep the car on the road. Seems to have worked as no longer getting oil in the expansion tank.
I've never used any stop leak products on the power steering system. Since a leak on it is an MOT failure, it would be worth getting it either repaired or using an additive, which is the cheaper option. For a tenner, it's worth a punt as long as the seals aren't split.

I used K seal in the past but it never worked on my head gasket.
Cost me 600 pound to have that sorted by a mate. 
But it's worth a punt for a tenner I guess.
It was surpose to be wouldnt yes.
Can you fit the rack? Or are you not a do it yor self person?

not that im not for DIY, dont have the equipment to take the front end apart to fit a new one unfortunately
