Hi everyone
New to this forum and looking for some help with my 54 plate 206 Quicksilver. Done about 70k, had new cam belt fitted a year ago.
Sorry for long post! Lots of info!
For the last few months every morning when reversing out the drive the car cuts out. Restarts straight away then give it a few revs and it seems fine, go to move off in 1st and same thing happens unless I really rev it... same happens in 2nd. once in 3rd everything runs smoothly!
If stuck in traffic have the same problem. Will be crawling then the revs drop to 500 suddenly and with a quick dip of the clutch (learning to recognise when this is about to happen now) it stops it from cutting out.
Happened on a roundabout too when the car just doesn't want to move in 1st - can have my foot to the floor but it just stays in the same spot but would suddenly shoot off after a min! Pretty annoying!
Have had it serviced and nothing came up on diagnostics at all. Have a feeling it might be to do with fuel injection as only in low gears and with the juddering before it shoots off... any ideas?
Have put Redex in but hasn't made much of a difference. Fitted a new battery, worked like a dream for a day then back to usual tricks! Doesn't seem to matter if hot or cold either.

You need to tell us which engine you have first as the Quicksilver spec was available with several different power unit options in both petrol & diesel.

Getting nearer.
8 or 16 valve?
I would guess 16 valve due to age but lets make sure first.

Ha... I'll get there! 16 valve! As you can tell I'm pretty rubbish when it comes to my car!

I had similiar symptoms with my 1.4 8v Quiksilver (although not exactly) but when the car was hardly moving despite the throttle being down, my engine management light was flashing and the car was in some sort of 'limp mode'
It turned out to be a injector gone bad, running on three cylinders. cost £100 to replace and fit.
These 206s love a problem that is hard to diagnose!
