Annoying as hell, but my car failed mot on a binding brake. it's only on the osf, but don't know what I should change? Brake hose or caliper? Any info would be great. What would you guys do? Anyone else had thisproblem?

Don't see how a hose could cause sticking, so caliper. Typically a question of corrosion, so a disassembly and a good going over with a steel brush +greasing of moving surfaces on the caliper, is often enough.
Doing it with it still on the car won't require bleeding, but removal is likely to give you better/easier access to clean.
Could be corrosion on the surfaces of the cylinder bore wall / piston. I'd probably go for a new/recon'd caliper in that case.

Hey mtempsch,
Thanks for the response, found a brand a new Bosch caliper for my 206 delivered for £50, by far the cheapest I could find. Will fit it when it comes and hopefully that should sort it... hopefully.

Flexi hoses can break down internally with age & the rubber inside the hose can then act like a one way valve giving good fluid flow in one direction & restricted or no flow back the other way.

Ah, I see. Never seen or heard of that one before... live and learn!
To test I'd imagine unscrew hose, stick in bottle with brake fluid (end of hose below surface), depress brake & see fluid level in bottle rise, release brake and level doesn't go back down (or very slowly)?

Strip down the caliper clean up all the moving parts and rebuild it with new seals and pack everything with grease. That should solve the binding.
