I have a 206 GLX Y reg thats done about 80,100 miles, this morning when I started driving it seemed to take a while for the speedo needle to move when I did, it felt like I was going a lot faster than it said and the RPM was much too high for what gear I was in and how fast the speedo said I was going, I think it's out by 8-10mph... eg I was going (supposedly) about 23mph in third gear and my RPM was just over 2000, I changed into fourth and just as I hit 30mph my revs had gone up to the same point as before. then I was driving home and my acceleration was sooo slow, it took absolutely ages to get up to 70mph. not sure if this was just me changing gears too soon because my RPM was so high but it really did feel so slow to accelerate.

any opinions appreciated, please help! Sad

(ps im not very engine/car part savvy so please dumb it down a bit...)

thanks xxx

Is there a burning or odd smell? Sounds very clutch like symptoms

I would if you can show a garage the problem, main dealers may confirm it free
