MAF sensor needs replacement? Fault reading should reveal.

I've been driving my HDi with shot MAF sensor since ever, and had to change it only during remap, otherwise the defaults that the ECU falls back to are safe for standard operation. Thanks @pro_steve for when I picked his brains Smile

Thanks. I'll see what comes of it. Car doesn't seem to have any performance issues as yet, so hopefully the MAF sensor can stay as it is.

Just noticed you're in Bristol. Me too. I'm just about to take the car to Bristol2CVs, Hampton Rd, Redland. Haven't used them before, they just came up on Google as Peugeot independents. Anyone you'd recommend?

Alrigh' me ole neighbrr? Wink

You can bring the car over so I can read the fault codes (got PP2000 here), PM me

I used local garages for my Pugs, until one day I understood the fact they keep telling me to scrap the car is because they don't want to deal with Peugeots Very Happy
Can't blame them, when splitting ball joint involves two people and a scaffolding pole Very Happy Hence resorted to use own head and a driveway (not that I pried the lower arm with my head mind Wall Bang )

Been fixing car up myself with the help of this amazing forum knowledge, no problems since; had it at Robins'n'Day once when I ran out of ideas with suspension, they didn't find anything certain, and again through this forum I fixed it eventually Thumbs Up

Ah! Wish I'd noticed the Brizzle connection earlier. Just dropped the car off this morning. See what they say.

Yes, but I suspect he was just the guy who does the bookings. Turned out the problem was the BSI box. Garage said new box is £300 plus £100 to fit, but they thought I wouldnt be keen on that, so they re-wired the lights so they're no longer through the BSI box. Job done!

Fair play to them. They could have just told me I needed a new box.

Funny stuff going on with this thread. Sometimes messages seem to be missing, other times they're there!

Let's see how the car runs now, I feared too BSI might've had it; will rummage this forum/online for any possible fixes without needing to replace or bypass, but iirc sometimes BSIs shoot themselves in the head with a door handle..

Any feedback about fault/MAF?
