I recently bought a 3 door 2001 206.

It is in perfect condition for the age only doing 28000 miles.

I have a few questions about the car and a few modification questions. I don't know a lot about cars so I have quite a lot of questions!

1) My speedo has broken, it still moves but 30mph is about 5 on the speedo, I didn't know if there was a way of fixing this or if I needed to buy a new one(if buying a new one where can I get one?).

2) My Air conditioning works but only on 4, does this need re gassing or is it a bigger job?

3) I changed my stereo to an xtron 806 I think ( the screen comes in and out). Is there a way of making my controls on the steering wheel still work with this stereo?

4) I would like to change the seats as the ones I have at the moment are a horrible colour/fabric. I don't know the best place to get these from (I want the full interior including door cards).

5) I would like to replace the exterior door trim and back trim to match the colour of the car, do I need to get these sprayed or can I buy them somewhere online?

thank you for all your help in adavance!!

1) Someone else will no doubt be along shortly to answer...

2) Assuming your blower works normally at positions 1-3, then it will just need re-gassing

3) If the stereo supports external controls, you'll need to source an appropriate adapter

4) Scrappy, Ebay or sometimes you may find people here selling them

5) As above otherwise yes, you'll need to get them sprayed

3. You need an adapter, a company called Connect2 make them or check the nexxia website for the one you need.

4. You can pick up a full GTI 180 interior from eBay in cood condition for around £200-£300 bad conditions ones go for a lot less.

5. Door trim you could colour code yourself if your confident enough to do so, or find a breakers and buy replacemrnts/ spares for peanuts and DIY spray them. So that way if it doesn't go well you can bin them or try again. DIY'ing isn't that hard even for a complete novice and I think there is a guide on here if not a simple google search will bring you up some decent guides. Preparation is everything.

- The air con blows out at such a pathetic speed from 1-3 , but the same speed for all three. which you can barely feel unless you have your hand right in front of it?

- I have no idea if it supports external controls where would I be able to find this out?
