If I fit a choke and also an idle setting screw and I'm doing away with my air con etc do I really need an idle control valve?
I've converted a 180 throttle body to mechanical to fit the 180 inlet on my 138 and want to know if I can just leave the sensor plugged in but just don't run it.
Any advise will be greatly appreciated as its the last part of the conversion

It should be ok. All it does is control the air going into the engine at idle. The revs might drop too far if you turn the steering or switch the air con on at idle but otherwise it should be ok.
As long as it will actually idle it should be ok.

right I will give it a go and set the revs slightly higher than they would be usually and do a bit of trial and error .. and if it runs badly I'll get a block made up to accommodate the icv.. bcheers

Not sure what you mean by adding a choke though. Don't see how you'd do that.
I would have just started off with a throttle body that would take all your standard controls/sensors.
