Guys,

I've posted a few questions etc so far about turning my 206 into a track toy. All I've done so far is start the process of TLC.

LOL. Don't I know. I'd ideally like to source new Torsion Bars before I go through the hell of lowering it.

GTi180 torsion bars & ARB can be bought from the dealers for about £150, then another £80 or so for the front ARB

KEI's swapped for 16" Superleggeras.

how far are you going with this? personally i would've stripped it down first, cleaned, protected and painted everything. then rebuild with new/upgraded parts as required.

still, looks good enough atm.

I've only fitted the OZ's so that I can get the KEI's sold. I've got too many bits of car floating about.

The plan is to collect all of the parts for each section, coilovers, torsion bars, ARB's for example and attack each section as one.

Ben - have you been in touch with Carl [no_offences], as he's in Leeds and has a China Blue GTi?

I really need to get a few pictures of my track bound sh@theap on here!, Mines just gone for lowering after being stripped, does make a difference with just a pair of bucket seats in the front and nothing behind you, even if it's mainly psycological! keeping the stereo and aircon is a must tho!
This 206 IS going on a trackday despite it's every effort to stay at home in the garage!

Get some up Mate.

Who's doing your lowering and how much?

How much weight do you think you've lost? I can't see mine losing more than 40-50kg from the interior with the buckets and harnesses.

there's about 40kg of stuff in my garage then whatever the buckets weigh off that. not that it mtters for a track car, your not really racing anyone (officially) and i kind of like having the floors in the car, makes it more fun than spending a fortune making it track perfect only for some nob in a shed to run into it on it's first outing.

I'd be up for that.

Just worked out that I've got rouoghly another £1,500 to spend (that's my original budget gone LOL) to get it where I want it so hopefully I should be done within the next 6-8 weeks.

Sounds like you're making progress, keep it up!
Book Trax up and get onto Silverstone in early September Wink
We should all organise a track day for some time in the early Autumn if most should have finished their projects by then?

The more I look into them Jamie, the more they make sense. I need to get the basics right first though as there's no point going fast if you can't turn or stop Wink

I'm torn between developing this lump, a 180 engine which looks harder the more I look into it or developing a GTI-6 lump.

I've just been out for a curry with a Mate who had a GTI-6 and we were talking about the loss of full lock when the 6 speed is fitted to 206's. He said the 306's were the same but Peugeot simply fitted a limiter onto one side of the rack to prevent rubbing. Good old Frenchies. So I need to look into this as well.

Weight of the lump also plays a big part as, from what I can gather, this block has quite a weight advantage on a 180 unit.
