Some of you may or may not not know that i've bought Jord294's Miami Blue 309 which he lovingly fettled with as can be seen in this thread: www.309ownersclub.com/...mp;start=0 B-)

After hearing that the car was up for sale, I immediately made enquiries as this picture had been on my desktop image for quite some time, so it was obvious i had a bit of a fetish for the car already.

So i thought, i've got some spare cash doing bugger all in the bank, I might as well enjoy it. So i fired Andy a PM and we settled on that I'd be able to buy the car no problem, he just had to finish the 306 gti-6 first. Braw! Very Happy

This, in recent times has been the shortest journey i've went for a car! Kent - 206, Southampton - Goodwood...so North Wales would be a doddle...until my chauffeur, Graham decided he wanted a gti-180 axle...based in Coventry. :-bd .... :-q So we did, Coatbridge > Coventry > North Wales > Coatbridge > soup from Grahams mum and a cup of tea > BED!!! Very Happy

We got the axle alright, nice quick sale and short blether with the seller then off to N.W. By far the funniest thing on the way was the guy in a black 2.2 astra that flew past us, with both rear windows smashed and i'm not trying to be racist but this dude was pretty dark skinned and we just looked at each other and said "Obviously STOLEN" Was very odd!

Anyway, turns out Andy lives in the middle of no-where! Some cracking countryside round about. Unfortunately I've no pictures of this because i just wanted to get to his house!

So, we then arrived at 309 Peugeot Drive, GTi-Ville and were confronted by a nice looking Miami 309 on the drive, and a crappy black one with no plastic trim on it parked next to it :)) My immediate reaction in the car was actually "WOW" and i don't say wow that often! It looked just as good as the pictures i'd seen, which was a relief because it was a long journey! Would have been a shame to go home empty handed! :))

Andy was piddling about in his garage, we had a blether I had a quick walk about the car and went in for a cup of tea. Quite literally NOT the way to "look" at a car but i had full faith that it was a good one! Cup of tea and blethers complete the deal was done and i was off! Once I figured out that I also had to act as a kind of SAD I was off after the car cutting out 5 times...not a great start but off i went nonetheless.

10 minutes into the journey home and a mercedes E-class flew past us with a smashed window. Something "odd" about that area anyway :))

Not got much to say about the rest of the journey other than if you have a kenwood stereo, and you want it to change from radio one to 89.9FM then all you need to do is go over a cracking bump on the M6 in the Yorkshire area...it does this automatically! =)) The rest of the journey was hassle free! I couldn't help but notice how sensitive the steering was, even in comparison to the goodwood. The coilovers weren't really hard at all and didn't really feel any harder than the goodwood! She's a little bit nippier than the goodwood thanks to the k&n set up on there too. I couldn't really take in the lovely blue-themed interior because it was dark! A few hours later, we were home, rested the car, had some supper and went to bed.

Got up the next morning and headed over to ecosse to see if they could help me resolve the start up cut out issue, temporarily increased the idle speed "screw" and i've got further tests to do on it tomorrow morning when it's cold, Ideal because it's frosty outside at the moment! I'm not worried about this issue, it's just annoying and shouldn't be an expensive fix. :ympray:

With that sorted I headed home, parked her up and gave the 2 cars present a wee wash. Safe to say i'll get the 3 of them to a near-by place for a wee photoshoot of some form but for now, here's some shots!

I'll be doing my very best to look after it just as well has Andy has, If not...better Wink It's too nice and too rare a car to just let it be run into the ground. Especially going by some of the looks i was getting by other road users when driving it!

This is definitely not for sale...thanks for reading my crap patter journey write-up thing B-)

Only a few plans for this (nothing engine wise so relax in your seats!) but these will be updated in due course! Smile

You'll probably never really understand what 205's 309's are all about until you've been in one/driven one i think! It's all about how they handle really, team high speed cornering for thee win.

Reasoning behind this car was mainly due to wanting a 3dr 309 (a proper gti in 3dr format!), what it had all done to it in the thread i've posted up at the top of the first post and the fact that there are less Miami blue 309's than there are goodwoods in the country. The picture above with 2 of them is crazy. I think there will be about 5 or 6 3 doors ( i know of 3! 1's just not in the above pic!) and there will be around the same in 5 door models i expect. So it was definitely something i "fell in love with" when i seen it.

It drives so well too, it feels very solid Smile I'm chuffed, so the neighbours can p**s and moan all they like! I pay my car taxes so i'll be using up the road! Bear in mind the Goodwood is stored n a lock-up though Smile So, it's not too bad. However i have noticed that 2 of my neighbours have bought 407 estates since i've moved up here, i wonder if i've been of influence Laughing

Looks like another minter, but why 3 cars? You gonna sell one of them or run all 3?

b******s. In your "had a bad idea" thread is the real photo and the colour of your car is nothing like that above. Crap camara or not. You have adjusted the colour that much you've turned a green tree red.
