I've seen a photo in my haynes of the boot latch (bit attached to car) that has a wire coming from it that is the boot open sensor (displays 'tailgate open' on the display/beeps; similar to if a door is open)

Is this only for 206 SW or do other versions have it?

My 206 Entice doesn't have it, wondering if others do?

Cheers

Actually having just looked on the service box, I might be wrong and it might be for the alarm system (which my car doesn't have)

Anyone any ideas?

the higher end modelas will probably have it, as yours is a fairly low end model ( no offence if you didnt know this )

GTI's, XSI's etc will probably have it Smile

Haha no offence taken Smile I know it's pretty low end

I was just wondering whether it was for the alarm, or whether it was a sensor etc etc

I know my car has been rear-ended at some point in it's life, so I'm always on the look out if parts of the boot haven't been returned to spec.

my GLX has it, only because the first owner added it as an optional extra, but that little wire is the most annoying thing on earth, it does not fit properly and no matter what I stick to it it comes loose, setting the alarm off randomly when ever it feels like it whether it be at work or 3am in the morning :L I just keep the wire out now, nobody is really going to be able to prize open the boot. Shocked

Yeah both the rear boot latch sensor and the bonnet sensor are for 206's with alarms, i was guna fit them to mine but Pug garage said bsi update for that would mean needing to fit standard alarm, which you can get on ebay anyway, but it means

Alarm Wiring.
Alarm Fitting.
Both sensors.
BSI Config *of which is £50 each time as it is*

Cheers for clearing that one up!

Much appreciated, sounds like it can be more trouble then it's worth!
