Hey guys.

My car is a 51 plate, XSi 1.6

I've got a bulb out on my heater controls and was just wondering what bulb is it that i need to replace it?
A link to one on ebay would be good.

Also, whilst i'm replacing it, i thought about changing them to red.
Is this possible?

I'm guessing there is an orange filter in there somewhere like the MFD's, so is this filter removable? and then will i be able to change them to red if i buy some red bulbs the correct size?

Thanks guys.

Ah right ok, so they are quite big bulbs then....same as side lights?
Do you know how many of them there are?

Anyone else know about the heater panel filter?

501s are sidelight bulbs.

The bulbs you're looking at should be 509T bulbs.

Argh, i'm so confused lol, i'd say yours sound more correct Gaz, as aren't they the same as the MFD bulbs too?
And i didn't really want to take it out to check until i had the new bulbs to go in... :/
Anymore suggestions?

I used Ice White LED's (T5 286)

replace them with LED's if you can Robbo to save them blowing again - because trust me replacing them is a pure and utter PITA!!!

There's no more than 6 in there, I actually think it's 4 IIRC.. But then you can buy 10x509T's on ebay for a quid or so...

Changing the colour requires stripping the controls down (as does changing the bulb virtually) and removing the coloured transparancy filter and replacing it with a colour of your choice.. I'd do this over getting coloured LED's/Bulbs as it softens the light slightly and stops you having light spots on your dials Smile
