Sorry my mistake. Top end power isnt everything. Maybe your car stock 170 hp and after remap you only get 175 hp top end power but you get better torq and power curve. And better curve is better drive.

You can never use a cars full BHP on the road. Low range torque is your usable power so I wouldn't even look at the BHP improvement, instead look at lb/ft torque smoother power release and fuelling.

I have contacted a engine tuner in plymouth highly recommended to me by a few people this is what he said about getting my gti 180 remapped.

Alan Jefferys

"We've done a few of these, and the results make it worth doing, from the reports I've had back from customers. You'd gain torque and smoothness, gaining better response from low revs. Superchips quote 10 bhp extra.
The cost is £239 inc vat, which includes a dyno test.
It's done serially, and takes around 1.5 hours."

£239 is a good price, but to be fair anyone who is trying to sell you a remap or anything is going to say its worth it, but at £239 i'd consider it.

I'd imagine that's a generic map rather than custom for that price.

b******s. In your "had a bad idea" thread is the real photo and the colour of your car is nothing like that above. Crap camara or not. You have adjusted the colour that much you've turned a green tree red.

I agree. Any person in that shop can just bang it on then. Get more cars done.

not sure 9k would work on a 180 engine, according to pug 7200rpm doesnt work either Laughing

Dont go higher than 7500. Con rods fine. It can handle low boost with 7500. Or N/A 7800. But real problem ise sleevs. That reason Peugeot update ECU software and decrase rev limiter tu 6900. And long uase after 7500 rpm damage your VVT pulley on your intake cam.

yeh its more for the way the car drives etc,i think im due a timing belt, sometimes in the morning when i start the 180 it revs really low and when i press the accelerator there's not very much response for around 5 seconds, its kinda strange.......

just out of curiousity what sorta bhp can you expect from cams?
