well i am sat in my house waiting for the postman to deliver my closed induction kit from PUG1OFF, and it will be fitted as-soon as i get it Very Happy

once thats done i am off to renault to see my friend who is going to fitted some bonnet spacers and lift the rear of my bonnet.

thought i would share that with you all Wink lol

I'm not a fan of the lifted bonnets. Just looks like there not been put on right to me.

well it is supposed to help the heat escape....as i have been informed by pug1off.
plus i think it gives the car an aggressive look

It can look ok if it's not too high . I wouldn't rely on the post tohught it took me 6 days to get something first class in the last week :/

mate dont lift the rear! TRUST ME!

it doesnt let heat escape it increases the temp of the engine bay and causes heat soak for induction i dont it and lost power.

plus the temp was constanly over the 90 mark, dropped it back down and now it looks better, feels more punchy and temp is fine.

but your choice but just vvoicing my opinions

How could it cause heat soak and raise the temp?
One thing I've always wandered, surely it lets a lot of rain in?

not sure how that works?? how does it not help heat escape? your creating a opening at the rear.....with the bonnet fully closed heat is traped...with the opening it has a place to escape...
correct me if i am wrong because i am no mechanical engineer but its pretty simple physics

there is somethin on the web showing results of some1 who done it.

it riased the temp on mine because cars today have been designed with the air flow in the engine bay taken into consideration. by raising the bonnet it disrupts this air flow and creates a more swirl then a straight flow through stop the hot air escape as efficiently as it does when bonnet is standard.

The funny thing about the internet is anyone can post up what they want? Also every car is different so what may not work on one car could work on another. I'm not saying the bonnet lifting is a good idea but I don't think it's detrimental to temperatures. You think that creating a few mm's gap will create a turbulent flow?
On a standard car the engine gets its air supply from the wheel arch anyway.

OP, the physics there is pretty sound! Those swirly things are called vortex's (no relation to the alloys LOL), it's the same concept behind aeroplane 'winglets' (the little tips on the end of wings). They cut through the air better, and prevent vortex's from forming in the air at the edge of the wing, then preventing any disruption to aeroplanes flying in the wake.

I can't comment on what will definately happen lol, but can't hurt to just try it out and if you do see those negative results, then just stop using it?

Just fitted my induction kit, its basicaly a bmc cda but pug1offs version. now when i orderd it i asked about a cold air feed and the guy on the fone said to me the 206 180 has a good cold air feed system already fitted, that goes to the wheel arch, and...when i fit it i should have it seated in the base of the orginal air box, he said this will do two things....1) shelter it from heat 2) supply it with a perfect amount of cold air.

so this is how i have fitted it.....now i am sure people will have something to say about this so...lets hear it lol
