I hear from people that remapping the 2.0 hdi is a common thing to do but when it comes to engines, I am an absoloute novice. Somone said that just from remapping I can get my 306 2.0 HDi 90bhp to 130+ bhp. I ahve some questions if anyone would be willing enough to help me out 
- How much is it?
- Where do I go to get it done? ie, peugeot stealrship or garage or what?
- are their any risks to doing it?
- will my fuel economy drop?
- would I have to inform insurance company? because being 17 years old, insurance is already £2.5k+ a year

Seems a bit optimistic to me but perhaps you can.
Not sure on price but i know a few ppl have taken this chance to uprate the cooling systems aswell which will add a few hundred on.
Theirs always a chance you can damage your engine internals or even blow the turbo if you dount take proper precautions.
Yeah safe to say your fuel economy will go down a bit.
Realistically you could chance it as insurance companies are unlikely to check however in my opinion its not worth the risk just encase it is ever found out, as then its all money down the drain effectively.
I'm sure there are a few project threads on this have a look for them it will give you a much better understanding and idea on what to do next if anything.

A live map is about £300, there or thereabouts.
You can get it done at a few different specialists around the country. Some have a better reputation than others though....
As long as you go to a solid company, shouldn't be any risks no.
Fuel economy should stay roughly the same.
Technically your insurance company wouldn't be able to detect it unless they plugged it in, which is hugely unlikely. That said, the right thing to do is to tell them.

A decent mapper should map to within the tolerences of the engines, it's not cheap to have done correctly.
If your insurance is 2.5k a year, why do you want to increase it by mapping? Only an idiot wouldn't declare a map to an insurer, the increase in power and torque makes you a far greater risk to other road users than you are already.

you could but it would last about a week before it blew the turbo lol
normally a 90bhp one with just a map can safely push 115 at the absolute tops to get near/above the 130 marker you need an intercooler

My old 2litre hdi was remapped to 123bhp with just a generic map so I don't see why 130 is unreasonable provided it's a good mapper like rs tuning doing it

It's not getting the engine to produce the power that's the problem, but getting it to handle it is.

Surely you should get other mods you want done before you do a map? Doesn't it effect it?

running the car 130hp with no other mods, might kill the turbo as it will be running 'very' hot!
you'll need to install a FMIC to bring the intake tepms down and help keep it more reliable and maybe prevent the turbo going bang.
