im selling mine because i have a company van 09 reg, a 55 reg VX zafira for the family and a 1989 NC30 bike, i get plenty of smiles per hour with that.
the 206 doesnt get used and im selling because im a family guy and always use the bigger car.

I would have sold a good year ago if my insurance would have allowed it  but i dont think there was a sportier looking car for my price bracket and insurance, so im stuck with it untill march.. atleast the new owner come then will have a shiney new cambelt and water pump

You better have deep pockets for servicing and such then. My mate by no means has no money, and he had an 8 for all of 7 months until he was almost hit by a 2.5k bill, and it wasn't even that old either... one of the last 8's, FQ-400 I think..?

I had to get rid of my 206 as it had a whining Gearbox, so i bought a 207,

I had a 51 plate 206 when I was 17, and I loved it (I did have a saxo first though lol)! I sold it as i wanted more power (it was only a 1.1 look). I bought a 06 plate astra (1.6 sxi), tbh it was nice to drive, a little more powerful, but I preferred the 206. I then got an 08' 320 m sport edition...that was awesome! but my OH decided to do his driving test 12 months later and couldnt get him insured on it for reasonable ££ so I decided to come back to the 206. It was the best car apart from the BMW that I had owned, so I just decided to go for the GTi (V plate) so it had some grunt (no way could I go back to a 1.1!!) I love it, but I think I have been spoilt by newer cars
Luckily, I already have a buyer lined up when I'm ready to sell and she will stay in the family
My next car will be an Audi A3 S Line 2.0 TDi (hopefully the Black Edition). I really miss the luxury of the BMW and a newish car, I just need to save some cash...
PS- Evo FTW!!! (Would have one if it wasnt for the running cost and having to add my OH to the insurance!)

Well Thank you all for the generous amount of replies about this thread,so after reading all your comments and the reasons why you sold the 206,it turned out that the major reason is it's expensive to run,either because of it's low MPG or because of it's high insurance rate,and the second reason in the list is it's crap french build,which make it expensive to fix,specailly when it get's old like 1998 or 1999 (early models),that what some of you said about it,and I made it by oreder,but others sold it because they want to get a family car,so they had to move on,and other sold it because of money problems,lost work,or changed job,and other wanted to buy a cheaper insurance vechile.
So I say to who think it's expenisvie to run,everything have it's cost,you want speed and power,then you gotta pay for low MPG and high insuarance rate,and I'm sure that the MPG differ from one driver to another ,according to the way they drive the car.
and for who thinks it's carap french build,I must say that french cars are well known in the driving comfort,and support they provide to the driver,and no one can deny the comfort seats we have in the 206 specially it's in the small cars segment.
About getting old,well we all know that the 206 production last for the late 2008,so it will be 2 years old,and I don't think that would consider old,and it looks great,and more sporter than the Polo,and for young people,I'm 28 years old,and I still drive it :D,and love it so much :D.
Well at the end,we have to remember what this forum about,and have the Loyalty to the 206 and to this site who we are members of,and when new members join the site,and see how many ppl in here are selling,that give a negative idea for the 206 and the site,because I was shocked when I read that a Moderator in here think it's CRAP!!!,and another Moderator sold his car and bought another brand,so what would you think if you was new in here?? I'm sure you will be depressed and have second thoughts,so PLEASE don't forget what this forum about.
I don't mind that ppl move on and buy other brands,but it would be better if he/she keep that info to him/herself,and stay a member in here,who share his/her knowledge about the 206,and help other members,Thank you again for your comments,and I hope no one take this personaly

I'm not taking it personally, but your talking a load of tosh. People were asked, so they were told. People joining this forum don't join to rave about how good/practical/economic a 206 is! Just search Peugeot reliability in google lmgtfy.com/?q=Peugeot+reliability and its all there for you to see. Im not sure if you've noticed, but there's plenty of people on here who have moved on to different cars and are still here.
A moderator is allowed a personal opinion aren't they? Are you that naive to think the moderators must praise Peugeots until they are blue in the face?! Peugoets are notoriously worse, in terms of reliability and many other things, than several other cars out there. This is not a censorship, please remember that. Why the feck should people keep opinions of 206's to themselves!? How about you search the forums for all the posts about Peugeots cutting out, dieing or just generally being s**te.
And Peugeots for comfort? Really?! Pedals too close together, awkward seating position, plastic every where, unsupported seats (in lower spec models).

And, Timon2210, Peugeots ARE unreliable, expensive to run and not well built. My SportKA feels ten times more solid than my GTi, and thats saying something. However, Im going to go back to a 206 once I've saved, because I like the styling of them (180) and they'r relatively cheap to buy. Just because Im doing that, it doesn't mean I think the mpg wouldn't be s**t, the build isn't s**t and the insurance wouldn't be expensive.

I've heard of this! Honestly though, no creeks, no jolts, smooth over bumps, no feeling of things coming loose when you go over cobbles! Still, its going soon anyway.

You can't tell - no movement when driving/braking. Its the cost thats immense - the steering rack is a Ford only part RRP at £1300!
Most KAs will have them break atleast once. I enjoyed mine - it was like driving a go kart.
