Eugh, sorry guys just need to vent out a little bit.
Last night i was sat parked outside a nightclub waiting for the mrs (she works there but wasnt sure if she was in that night).
Next to me is a VW van, an absolute s**t heap. 3 people come out the shop by me, and get in the van. only, the passenger decided to pull the door open right into mine. We arent talking a forgiveable tap. there's a couple of white paint marks and a nice chunk out of my side strip.
Now, even though he obviously didn't care about the damage, it wouldn't have been a huge problem if he just apologised. Instead he just stared me out as if to say it was my fault. Now, there was a decent gap between the van and my car (further than a standard supermarket car park easily!). I knew he was just trying to get me fired up, but it just wanted an apology
I would have gone out and had a word, but the 3 of them looked a little...rough, and being in the middle of Birmingham, i didn't fancy my chances of having my head kicked in!
just hurts that i take such pride in my car. I know she is only a 1.1, but i owe a lot of things to her. I use her every day, done over 40k miles in 1 n half years in her, and try and keep her as clean as possible. Then all it takes is some utter TW*T to undo some of my work... to my pride and joy
I guess the only positive is that the strip needs replacing, meaning i may as well do the other side and colour code them just a shame that it came to this...
sorry, just needed to vent about it :/

Totally understand where you coming from id be livid, and i would have thought twice about getting out n having ago, not really worth getting your head kicked in about, altho i dare say some people would have a go back :S, recon they were looking for a reaction as much as anything, just remember the van, its very hard to drive on 4 flat tyres, without valves

Unlucky mate, but it's good that you kept your cool. If you hadn't it could have and probably would have ended a lot worse.

Maybe youre right rich, but still, id rather of it been a slammed euro clio than a c*not in a van.
and yeah your right harry, I thought id rather have a messed up door rather than a trip to the hospital.

Had similar thing happen to myself today, noticed a big indent on my front bump strip, not to my doing
Thought I would post as you captured exactly how I feel when you said you look after it so much and it only takes one amoeba brain to let it down

yeah i just read your post Andrewxps...i feel for you buddy i hate people that just have such disregard for other peoples property. Its like if i lend a cd to a friend i expect it to come back in the same condition as i gave it out, as i would with theirs. Im not going to go out and smash some poor souls car up, so why should someone do the same to mine?
I wish people had more respect. I understand that accidents happen, but some people are just malicious... maybe jealousy? I gotta admit, both our 206's are sexy

I go about with the same opinion dude, I treat other peoples property as it should be. We got off lucky though, both very replaceable parts, imagine if it were your rear quarter panel! People do get jelous of cars too, I had a couple of threats to key my car from not so nice college classmates, just jelousy lol
Hope you get your side strip sorted alright mate

ive used everything thats been done to mine as an excuse to do a new mod, people will always damage other peoples things its like a primial instinct, i had 2 front wheels slashed, wing keyed, lock damaged all while cars been in my drive, (yes its a dodgy area) but yeah i know its annoying but try to just use it as motivation to do more work on the car because the min you allow these scum to stop u then its over they have won and u might aswell not mod anymore its a shame i know

ratykat, im glad im not the only one who would have reacted like you did!
Im not a fighter, but ill happily fight if someone brings it on. But in that situation, for me anyway, its so hard between losing face and risking a hefty fight.
Although i would have done exactly the same as you and left it, i would have felt stupid/incapable as f&%k afterwards!
Anyway, like others have said, well handled and a good read

Gutted for you. But at least you didn't have your head kicked in or get nicked, like I would have had.
