Lets be honest. Exactly what lee said. 206s are a bottom wrung car and nearly everything is an improvement. People have more money people buy better things. Get over it.

Wouldn't really say that tbh, makes them sound like you can't buy a worse car! They ain't the best and I'll say that myself but there's far worse...I could have bought what some might call a 'better' car but its what suits you at the end of the day.
Think this polls a bit pointless tbh, seems some people have got their back up as a few people are parting ways - c'est la vie.

I get in the wifes 207CC and I realise why people say VW's are much better built. Even as soon as I adjust the rear view mirror it feels creaky and brittle. As you pull the door shut the trim and handle flex towards you.
Like most people though I'm comparing a £20k car with what is basically a £12k car with a £6k folding roof. It's not fair to compare them.
To compare a similarly aged 206 to an identically aged Polo actually doesn't make the 206 seem too bad. A 2001 Polo is not really that nice a car. |
So 28 MPG, £230/£240 tax a year + all the porblems that will come up isnt expensive to run..........i guess its not to bad if you've got lots of money..

When you sit it next to a newer car that maybe costs a little less, is just as fast, and the same to insure, then the mpg is considerably less yeah. But it's all down to engine type and weight in the end. I could get 40mpg from my supercharged VX. But a slow lard a**e fat turbo TT gets about 28mpg as well...

I think this poll is great,it made me reliaze how much ppl in here dislike 206 for a reason or another, and anyone who read this thread will see that,so that makes me wonder why they are in here in the first place!!

Timon - you are not grasping the 'community spirit' of 206info.
Being a member doesn't mean owning a 206.

Thank you for your comment, and thank you for being so much polite in saying it,not like some other member who were very unpoilte, and use unacceptable lang. in here,no need to mention him by name.
my Point is you can offer more while you still have the 206,that is the whole point, hope you understand

I dont think so Timon, people who have had the 206 can have, if not more knowledge than people who own it.
For example Seb. He's moved on but a moderator without a 206, though hes been through changing his engine etc and im sure his knowledge is more than most on here.
We cant just say that people who have moved on cant offer more.
Its the people that have had the 206 for years that help develop this site and help teach new people. They offer just as much!

Knowledge gained by owning & running a 206 is retained, no matter what car you have
Only by owning & driving other cars are you fully aware of the positives & negatives of 206 ownership
