Being quicker doesn't mean you're having more fun though. The magic just isn't there with diesel engines in hot hatches. If you just want to cruise down a motorway or any other road using the mid range you'll be happy though.

I do about half and half of motorway & country lanes.

Its a nippy car for what it is, a hell of a lot of torque.

Its a much different drive to the 206, a lot more powerful, and pulls like a train up hill. Going around corners it feels different but I'm yet to safely be able to test its limits.

Love the fuel economy, I've managed to get 62mpg over a 50 mile run & 33mpg when giving it some beans in 3rd & 4th. The 206 got 16mpg when I took it around Rockingham Laughing

I do about 20,000 miles a year so until I can afford a 2nd petrol car this will have to do Smile

I'm thinking about it, the one made by Forge it a silly price, £600+ for just the IC, pipework is £250 Confused
But there is a Seat Ibiza IC mod that people do that is about £350 in all.
However it requires cutting the crash bar Confused
forgemotorsport.co.uk/...ct=FMSKINT

Got a few bits arrive for it today, the original cold air intake that goes to the grill, battery cover. Also bought a kit to allow wiring in my iPod head unit. Damn I hate CD's, always rolling about Mad

The car had its first problem yesterday. The drivers check strap was making a clicking noise.
I phoned the garage for a quote & they said bring it over and we'll have a look. Upon inspection they found that the bolt holding the check strap on had come loose causing a little play. A couple of seconds later and it was good as new Very Happy

yeah, forge are far over-priced. there's the cupra twin pass which seem to be one of the best. a few 207 owners have gone for that one, just need to move the crashbar out about 10mm.

there's a fairly large twin pass one on ebay from the intercooler king... i should have got that one! lol

I think this is a great car, and im looking to buy one of these next year sometime, loving the fact it looks understated and that it has 5 doors, not to mention the fuel economy while still being a nippy little thing Very Happy

A few new updates.

I thought I'd tidy up the engine bay a bit as I wasn't happy how the cold air feed to the K&N Apollo induction kit was fitted.
Then I noticed this...

Full of holes so the cold airfeed was pretty pointless, so I decided to put the standard airbox back in.

Removing the K&N

It seems to have been rubbing on the cold airfeed, almost to the point where there's a hole (top left of it on pic), so this filter is going straight in the bin, its also packed with dirt & dead flies.
A new filter & airfeed are on order, I was surprised as its only £40 for both.

New pannel filter, just a cheap one for a short period.

Compared to the old one

How the engine bay is now looking.
Sorry for the poor quality pic, only had phone camera to hand.

I was going to put the OEM vRS alloys back on this evening but the weather looked a bit threatening.

I had a good look into the PD160 intake, basicly its overpriced & over-rated.

Seat drove up their prices when people caught on about this mod.
A used one recently went on eBay for £65, they used to be £30 all in new!

Plus I'm incorporating the PD130 intake funnel onto the end of the cold airfeed, would be more efficient than the PD160 any way Smile

I do love this car, last night it beat a bloke in a Vectra 2.2, this morning it got 57mpg Very Happy

Swapped over the wheels last night to the OEM ones Smile
Bumps are softer & acceleration feels marginally faster.

(I still haven't washed it, I'll see how long it goes until it needs one Razz )

It was cold this morning & my phone camera wasn't liking the shaking so that pic will have to do Razz

I've been keeping an eye on a set of the wheels on ebay, new without tyres they're £600, used in poor condition £300.
I'm hoping for £300+ as these isn't a mark on these ones! Very Happy

I'm having 2nd thoughts about the vRS mods for now, I like cheap insurance & economy.
Plus I owe Ed £350ish so the funds will probably go towards the 205, I'll update that thread in a sec, got more new pictures Smile
