Would be nice to have a 6th gear for cruising on the motorway, but i'm sure this has been talked about before on here with no real straight forward solution.

I'd love a 6th speed for long journeys. the noise and the high needle really upset me, lol.

Yes the 180 desperately needs a 6th, just to slip into on the motorway, sitting in 5th on about 3500rpm doing 70 sucks lol

TBH (on the 180) a 6th gear would only slow the car down.
Having VVT it would be useless in 6th (which would basically just lower the revs) so progress would be negligible lol.
Having a car with 6 speeds is great for economy, but is pretty boring to 'drive' [especially with cruise control]

Well I don't think you'd use 6th if you were pushing it, just to lower the revs sitting at 70-75 when you just want to get home.

Its a very similar block so I'd imagine so...not that anyone would trial it.

i discussed this originally on my hdi on the old site.
the mi6 box i think it was (gti-6) will fit but you can wave goodbye to alot of your steeringlock as the box takes the space.
(what i was told anyway )

Anything is possible, normally at a price, but if you really want a car that cruises better, sell the GT & buy something that does.
