Just thought I'd give you all a little story to read (:
When my 206 came out of the garage after 3 weeks (had to wait for my insurance to end) My uncle commented that the battery was a bit low so I should leave it running for a bit, & give it a good ride out. I did that & it was fine... thought nothing of it since (7 weeks ago).
The past few weeks it'd been starting a little dodgy in the morning, I mentioned it to my dad & we decided that replacing the glow plugs may help. So he ordered me 4 (£8.99 each :O) we had it apart yesterday & fitted them all, found that one definitely wasn't working. Great I thought, problem fixed!
Until this morning... As you'll probably know, unless you're somewhere abroad (lucky b*****ds) it was a little frosty this morning. So my mum went out to start here car & de ice it, and decided to start mine. The f***ing things wouldn't start at all  So I went out there & attempted it... nothing, just turning over & not actually firing up :\ Then I tried it with the clutch down... I've heard that takes some of the strain off the battery so can help. The Oil temp needle wouldn't even go up to it's highest point & as I tried it again, it completely died & all the needles dropped down  :'(
I thought great the f***ing battery's dead... & we spent £36 on f***ing glow plugs  Pretty p**sed off.
But we rang Pug, they told us exactly how to jump start it to avoid messing with the alarm or anything.
I'll write it up for anyone who may need it in the future...
You connect the red jump lead to the positives on both battery's, turn the dimmed headlights on, on both cars.
Start the 'jumper' car, connect the black jump lead. & leave for 10 mins.
After the 10 mins, start the 'dead' car, leaving the lights on.
Leave for a further 5-10 mins.. it's up to you. We did 5!
Then you should be able to disconnect the leads. Red one first, then the black.
Leave the 'dead' car running, or take it out for a good 10-15 min drive.
Hopefully this should work. I've done this & it started again fine.
Going out in 2 hours, so hopefully it'll start then.
Anyone got any tips for keeping the battery charged... I.E possibly not setting the alarm?

How about you just get a new battery, rather than worrying about leaving the alarm off to conserve power??

unless you have either a faulty battery/alternator or somethings draining the battery it shouldnt go flat for weeks maybe even longer even with the alarm on
check the battery/alternator charging (most garages will check this for free i know we do)
if they are ok and the problem still occurs check everything on the car is powering down could be something stupid like the bootlight is staying on when you shutting the boot becuase you wouldnt notice it. have you got aftermarket sound system? this could be your cause if not wired in correctly also

Well my uncle's next at home (he's a lorry driver) I'm gonna borrow his battery charger to charge it up, or he's got a spare battery he might fit for me failing that.

Well it definitely won't be the boot light, not got one of those :L
Yeah I've got an aftermarket headunit, but it won't stay on unless the ignition's on, surely that would stay on it was wired incorrectly?

i had loads of issues with my car, tired everything, the battery was reading fine etc do changed other things, then the car kept dying and needed jump starting, replaced the battery and everything is fine, that was 4 months agostarts everytime,
funny thing was the battery was reading ok everytime it was checked lol

I'd go for a new battery too.
Back in the day when you could renew the acid in the cells and charge it you might have saved it but nowadays most are maintenance free and as such THROWAWAY.
