Whats the point of them????? I got all excited when I found out the panda 100hp was only group 4. The other car I may get is a Vectra 1.9 CDTi which is group 9. One would naturally think the vectra is going to be dramatically dearer. But oohhhhhhhh no, panda is £2451, vectra is £2651 annual........ -.-

Personally I would never pay over 1000 insurance ! And 306 for a panda ? Your nuts , vectra is ok tho but prefer Astra . Am thinking bout a tt 1.8 quattro 225 just as your previous thread said cars lose it , I fancy something comfy and rapid and good build quality . Rather than rattles and knocks from my 206 !

There is no point of insurances anyway, the world is crying out for money, and where has it gone? Insurance companys!

You pay stupid amounts for nothing, end of the day if you have an accident you end up paying a lot of the damage repairs when you could easily fix it yourself for a third of what the insurance says, and also you loose a couple more hundred quid due to loosing your no claims bonus so that screws you the next again year

What a waste of money... and i thought paying for the goverment and dole f****rs was bad!

What! Insurance also covers you for repairs & compensation to 3rd partys that can run into thousands of pounds or even millions. But if you can afford that sort of money, I'm sure there's a way of covering yourself rather than use an insurance company.

Because they're a business that has been losing money on car insurance (no, they really have poor things), so now they want to claw the money back via higher premiums.

Dont they realise that everyone is skint though!

For example my lasses mum was in a bit of an accident the other day and the other woman is claming which is fair enough, but the insurance wants my lasses mum to pay £500 just to fix her car, which is a £20 job with it just being a headlamp protector and the only damage to the other womans car was a tiny scuff which can be fixed for peanuts, so why £500 plus loosing whatever many years insurance

Its all bollox!!!!!

Also id like to add what if a little f****r comes into you without insurance? Insurance dont cover you then unless your with the rip off ones like direct line. We all aint f*****g mp's who scam money outta all our our hard working bank account, they sit on there t**ts doing sod all while we pay them to do that, just the same as we pay insurance companys to do nothing! Basically im paying insurance just so that them traffic cops wont pull me by using their reg scanner

Where to start? Like I said before, you don't have to go to an insurance company if your rich enough to be able to meet any claims made against you, but as they can run into millions most of us have no choice but to! As for your lasses mums predicament as it's now in the insurers hands, & unless you can persuade them to let you do the repairs (not likely), they will go where they want, regardless. As for MP's, your right about their scams, or imaginative accounting, but they're in power & your not. That sucks I know, but a lot of people with even a tiny bit of power abuse it, look at some of the mods here ( Twisted Evil ) & traffic wardens ect. As for the filth, well I'd actully like to see more ANPR checks. s**t rolls down hill mate, & the less money & power you have, the more you get. Lifes a b***h, but don't let the b******s grind you down Very Happy

Well it seems to be going down for me at least.
Had a group 14 GTi & was paying £1200 3rd Party F&T

Now got my Fabia vRS which has 40bhp more & twice the torque & is a group 9!
All mods declared I'm paying £612 fully comp.

Sorry.

(Forgot to mention that my accidnet that I had over 3 years ago is now off, and I'm just about to turn 21)

Just thought I would make it clear too, the £2500 FULLY COM I have quoted up there is a lot less than what I am currently paying... I am third party F&T and paying £3750 on a group 5 car. Thanks to wealthy granparents I was able to pay this but if I had opted for the pay monthly the total would have come too £4000+ so for me, one years no claims has cut my premium by a 1/3

I'm not getting involved in the 'I hate insurance companies' arguement but with regards to insurance groups, they are only there as a rough guide and will vary signifiacntly from company to company.

Insurance is more about YOU than the car anyway so concentrate on driving claim free, under your own policy.

My insurance has been drastically dropping year by year now. First year on the 206 was something like £1800, then second year was £900, third was £600 which I stopped half way through, to insure the VX at £1300, now the TT costs me £730 on my own policy, at 21 with 2 year's NCB.

A 1.4 206 was quoted to me at £420 or something. Must be super special or live in a really good area or something.

Don't argue the opinions of idiots.
They will bring you down to their level and win through experience.

i payed alot to insure my old blue gti, had a low excess then my car gets graffitied down the side and the insurance company says you will need to pay 600 towards a new paint job when my excess is only 350 combined, then when i refuse they say well you can foot the bill yourself and keep your insurance claim free, isnt that the f*****g point of insurance !!!!!!!!!!!
