I do the T/B kit for £1550+vat with everything you need to fit stand-alone or piggy-back..... add another 1k for fitting and RR set-up

The reason I wouldnt do a 180 conversion for road use is the loss of the functions like VVT and all the driving cheats like traction control. If you want T/B conversion on a 180 keep it for trackdays and fast road use and I can junk the VVT.

To achieve the 76HP you would need to spend money like Edward. you will need the cams headwork and the exhaust. On the plus side you could fit 45mm T/B`s rather than the 42mm that Ed has chosen.
One thing is for sure... If you want good advise on this issue it pays to listen to the likes of him who have the experience in it

What I don't get though is this:

You've spent £7k on 70odd bhp. The 180 already has half of this as standard over the 138. So on that basis you should be prepared to spend £3.5k more on a 180?

(By the way this is no dig at you Edward, I have alot of respect for what you've done to your car, I'm just using your figures as a reference)

Yes it is.... would give you about 180HP and 160ft/lb torque on standard cams, bit more with a de-cat

ASR is the anti-skid function
ESP is electronic stability programme function (which also activates the hazard lights automatically)

I'm not quite sure what you are saying but as a standard car if I only wanted 180 bhp then I would buy the 180 (when I got my 138 the 180 had only just been launched).
But if I knew I wanted to end up with over 200bhp I'd start with the 138. No point paying for all the GTi 180 extras when they'll just be thrown away.
But then if you also wanted to buy a 138 and tune it to GTi 180 power levels then that would be more interesting to own than a GTi 180.

The traction control system used on the 206 needs a fly by wire throttle to work.
