the only other reason not to get a 180 over a 138 is if you can't afford the running costs.

Apart from the reason I have stated.

Especially not your reason.

Seems so.
I'm quite bored of arguing with someone with blinkered views who quite clearly cannot see that a 180 will cost quite a bit more than a similar aged 138 (give or take a year or so).

Some will some won't.
Regardless, the 180 is a better car, and the only reasons not to get one over the 138 is if your budget limits you, or you want to mess with the insides.

But why would I 'clearly' see your point that a 180 'will cost quite a bit more than a similar aged 138'?. Myself & others have proven that there's mint low mileage 180's out there that are going for around the same price, if not less in some cases than the 138. Your wrong, So at least have the balls to admit it like no offences did about R32's going for £1500.
What SGP says above is what I've been saying from 15 pages ago, but you still can't see it!

The 180's are selling for dirt cheap because nobody is buying them which imo means its worth getting one over the 138 if you have the funds for the extra insurance, tax, fuel etc.
If you thinking of doing engine mods then its a different story.

you cant say that until you're no longer driving something french yourself Laughing

Also I think no offences meant a skyline R32, which is ugly as sin, and has no mod cons, so would be horrible for every day driving, regardless of the speed.

Mate - are you an idiot?

I have searched myself and found that most 138's go for at least a grand less than a similar aged 180.

I'm done with arguing over something i've weighed up myself countless times over the past 5 years..

Your argument would have been valid 5 years ago, as the 180's were relatively new. But you must be the idiot to still be coming to the same conclusion half a decade on. As for what 180's 'go for', are you getting asking price confused with the price they eventually sell for? Anyway, it would still be worth a grand extra to most people.

The argument stands - The 'better' car goes for more money. How is that not clear as day?

Standard vs Standard, the GTi180 is better. However, it is a pretty poor hot hatch, and there's better out there for the same money.
