Hi all
Right i'm puzzled!
My horn doesn't work.. i checked online & it failed its last MOT for it not working.. then passed.. so must have been fixed.. but now not working again.
the actual horn works (wired it to the battery and its fine) but there's no power getting to it.
i've taken the airbag off and the wiring looks fine.. even connected the battery back up without the air bag on & touched the red/green wires together to see if it was the contacts on the air bag.. still nothing
checked with a multimeter & there's nothing, havent got a manual or a fusebox diagram but all the fuses in the engine bay and under the dash LOOK ok, but i'm not sure what fuse it is 100%?
Its a 99 V plate 1.4 lx.. preplexed?
any help please?

panel under your steering wheel held on witha plastic screw, it has a diagram of which fuse is which on the back of it.

is it earthed correctly? Might explain why you're not getting a reading on the multimeter when its connected to the battery, check for between the fuse and before your horn once disconnecting the from the battery, using the ohm setting on the multimeter. if it comes back with something (expect something like 0.04 ohms), showing it's not an open circuit

Don't suppose you know which fuse it is?
I will have to look into that, I also considered trying putting a straight live from the battery to the horn.. then pressing the horn to see if its earthing that way? in theory if its working that way I know it's a definate live problem?

best going through all the fuses one by one i was the same only took 10min most of the fuses dont have to be taken out to see if ones blown defo sounds like a fuse to me

Have checked them all mate! layed there for 10 mins today with an inspection lamp looking at them all! lol. thats under dash and engine bay

The only fuse is in the engine fuse box, fuse 5.
Is there a horn relay fitted in the engine fuse box?
Is there power going to the switch? If so, press the horn, and see if there's power coming from the switch.

Rotary switch could be on its way out.
Rotary switch supplies the horn & drivers airbag wiring.
I do know of 1 non plexed 206 that fired the drivers airbag when the horn was pushed due to a worn out rotary switch unit
