Ok so i thought i would post this as it might help someone in the future as it could have potentially cost me a lot more than it did...

Well my brake pedal was being reaaaaally soft and nothing was happening until really far down when the pedal was depressed, took it to a few garages and they were all saying the master cylinder was probably at fault, but would have to do a full brake check and fluid change first to be sure which would have been £100ish but thought "Screw that i can do it myself..."

Well the handbrake cable broke a few days before but didnt think it would be related, anywho turns out the cable wasnt broke, a rivet on the brake shoe had sheared and a bit had come off

So £20, an hour, and a big fook off socket and wrench later, my handbrake works again, and the pedal has firmed right up again! Happy days!

Just thought this might help someone in the future if they search for a similar problem Very Happy
