Yes I replaced coilpack p0300,y memoscan says erase failed though, stuck in limp mode feels sluggish to drive and sucking up lots fuel. No EML light but reader says it's there sometimes and I'll rescan and it's not then rescan again and it is, need someone with official software to give it a go

Near sainsburys I can drive it fine though so don't mind driving 20 - 30 miles, just thats its using a bit more fuel and is a bit slowwwww.

1, Is it possible to be in limp mode without EML light lit?

2, Why would there be a code logged and no EML light ??

3, Whats the difference with a code being looged and EML light on and without it lit.

If the management light is off while its running then it aint in limp home mode.

What year is the 206 in question?

its 2003 1.1, it came up with P0300 and this Peugeout guy i spoke to said it would be coilpack so i went to parts place and changed it my self, but car still seems to be running sluggish.

If there is a fault code logged then why wouldnt the EML light be on.

The fault code will stay in the engine ecu till its erased.

Unless its a serious enough fault to stick the car in to limp home mode then the management light wont be on while its running.

Reboot the BSI as this will also force the engine ecu to relearn from base factory settings Wink

I've had several fault codes logged which didn't illuminate the EML, including the camshaft & crankshaft sensors when the cambelt had slipped, and the MAF sensor when that didnt work at all, and an immobilser fault

Agreed my map sensor didn't show elm light, but a fault code was there. Part changed and code erased it ran fine after that.

there still seems to be a "put Put" sound fromt he exhaust though, could this mean i changed coilpack for nothing and its an injector. I had number 3 replaced about a year ago.

the new coilpack is a Valeo one i used.
