Its only makes a noise when idling, when I accellerate its ok. The sould is coming from under the car in the middle between the front seats and engine - so that sounds to me like it would be the cat, however only got the car the other day so have not had a change to look at how it goes together under there. I'm going to put it on ramps tonight and check it out. Has anyone changed the Cat before and is it straight forward

mine sounded the same, and took me ages to find it, just look under the bonnet first and see if anuthing is loose, might save you time and effort

Not possibly the heat shield at the front of the engine.? Have known those to rattle against the exhaust, think they slip or get loose and vibrate, can sound quite noisy!

Jacked up the car last night, its that cat thats shot, i drove it for a bit and the cat stopped rattling so now it looks like its totally gone and the exhaust is blowing a bit from the same area. I must have knocked it somehow.
It also looks like the hearer matrix is gone, i'm seeing puddles in the footwells and the fluid smells the same as that in the water bottle.
Looks like a bought a total pile of s**t
