The horn isn't working, fuse is ok.

Been told it is most likely the connector behind the steering wheel airbag. I read in a thread to short out the horn relay so if horn works then control wiring i.e. the above mentioned connector is at fault. if doesn't then probably the wiring or horn.

Thing is i looked behind the fuse board (engine compartment) and couldn't see any relays.

So where is the relay to check?

Secondly where exactly is the horn located and how easy to get to? so i can check for 12v at the terminals.

Thirdly if I need to remove steering wheel airbag Confused can someone point me to a very detailed guide on how to do it safely. I'm not a mechanic and last thing i want to do is create more faults or make car unsafe for my wife.

you dont have to take steering wheel of to check, behind the steering wheel will be a connector for the horn put a multimeter on it and press the horn.

Another thing to check although not certain where the horn is located or best way to get to it. i.e. from underneath or wheel off through wheel arch, etc.

It would help if we knew what year the 206 in question is, 2 totally different electrical systems used & both come with different built in faults.

Its multiplexed then.

Airbag warning light isnt on as well is it?

Horn is buried behind the front grill on the left hand side, simple 2 pin connection, stick your test meter on there & see whats missing when the horn push is pressed.

Most likely find a dirty / corroded connection OR dead horn through lack of use.

No Airbag warning light.

Tried pushing horn and can hear click on each push from under bonnet so suspect button and relay ok. Next to check the horn connections.

When you say left side behind grill. Take it that's from inside the car i.e. same side and battery and fusebox under bonnet.

Nope, left as in when your standing facing the front of the car, horn is next to drivers side headlamp buried in the space between the grill & the radiator.
