Any idea of cost from Peugeot? GSF ones fitted previously (not the cheapest ones they offered either). Discounts available??

It sounds v much like wishbones. The aftermarket ones are poor and the bushes break very quickly. I have heard of them going in less than a week in some cases. Its just your luck if you get a good set

without sounding too dumb, what exactly should I be looking for (bearing in mind I dont have ramps - but a trolley jack & axle stands)?
Splits in rubber joints? out of position mounts?

Well, mine had an MOT and i specifically stated for them to go over with a fine tooth comb
They did, and found that the bottom arms had no play, same with anyother suspension areas
