Hi everyone,
I need help, i've been looking online for ages and looking over my car, I need to find my ECU number...
Does anone know where the ECU is on a 206? or how to get to it?

Its the square bit with the black stripe hanging off on the left, under the plastic vent.

Going by your previous threads are you 100% sure the ecu is actually faulty?
Might be worth getting the car hooked up to Peugeot Planet diagnostic & seeing whats up with it.

umm thats the slight probably mate, i've put it on the dignaostics, 2 or 3 times latly the first time i put it on it it came up with a "engine management sensor" and a "camshaft positioning sensor" needed replacing, did these but it still ticking over quite high.
i have a "idle positioning sensor" on the way if that doesnt work the garage is thinking maybe the ECU might be at fault.

Was it a Peugeot / Citroen main dealer diagnostic?

I very much doubt its the ECU, you would be having more problems than a high idle.

i wouldn't say its the ecu, dirty sensor, have you cleaned all the connectors (uplug, wd40 plug in and out)
sorry didnt get if it was diesel or petrol but if petrol clean throttle body etc

I had a similar issue with my xsi.I used carb cleaner on the throttle housing,butterfly.map sensor and then sprayed some down the throttle whilst revving it.Sorted it out a treat.

Have you had a poke around the throttle body/throttle cable?

The high idleing is the start of all the problems, sometimes it will start first times other times it takes 3 attempts to start it, really quite annoying, i've tried all the sensors, the throttle body has been clean twice. (just for good messure)
Yea sorry my car is a 206, 2005, 1.4 sport (petrol). The garage that has been looking at my car and finding my car a "one of a kind" is a authorised peugeot dealers.

if i happened to get a ECU as long as it is for a 1.4i would it be ok for the 8v and the 16v to use the same one or would they have to be different ECU's?
