Right, I searched the site for the answer to this problem but I found nothing.

The other day, just a couple of times, when I turned he engine off and pulled the key out the engine stayed on for a couple of seconds before it went off.

The same day, whilst accelerating up a hill in 2nd gear, the engine just stopped accelerating at around 2,300revs and just wouldn't go any higher.

So I stopped at the side of the road, turned the engine off and back on, and tried again in neutral. Still the same problem.

It was okay after a couple of minutes of leaving it off though.

So does anyone know what the problem is or had similar problems? Thanks.

By the way: my car is a 2001 2.0HDI

how is the car before the revs stop climbing? Can you put your foot flat and accelerate as normal or does it feel down on power? It could be a posibility that the inlet valve is sticking. Its work checking anyway its only a 5 min job.
