Well it would be cheaper buying 2 new bucket seats then replacing one! |
Depends you can find seperate seats on ebay. Failing that buy two and sell one.

Just a quick one (or two!)
With the seat having a side airbag I'm aware I'll need to disconnect the battery before removing the seat. Will I also need to disconnect the control unit?
Also, it might take a few days to fix correctly, would it be ok to reconnect the battery without the seat being in place? Would this just mean that the airbag warning light will be displayed? Or would it lead to something more drastic?

Yeah you need to DC the battery, correctly.
Then wait at least 3 minutes then just unclip the wires under the seat.
Yeah you can run the car without the seat, but the airbag light will be on, and the remainder airbags won't work until the seat is back in place.
