I've got an interesting problem and I wonder if anyone can help...
Went to fill up my screen wash a couple of minutes ago, pulled the bonnet release lever on the passenger side...nothing happened!!!
The lever feels like it has a bit of tension on it and i didn't feel the cable snap but the bonnet is now stuck closed.
Does anyone have any idea how to get it open? Can you prize it open at the main catch?
Thanks,
Rich

let someone pull the latch inside, while you push the bonnet down, and then pull it up for few time, this may work.

What engine is in your car?? if it is a 1.1 / 1.4 ect and the cable has broke you should be able to get to the catch from under the car.
If it aint broke proberly just stuck and as said above get some one to pull the lever and push down and pull up the bonnet when it open spray dw40 on it and work the catch.
Regards
Kyle

I've opened the bonnet on my GTi without using the bonnet release in the car. You can see the end of the cable through the grill. Just use a long screwdriver to push it to the side.
