Was wondering if these are a good combination together?
as my car will be having Gti calipers fitted but want a good decent brake set to go with it.

Yep, discs & pads are different on both versions. Different offset on the discs & pads are shaped differently

which year?

99 to 01 most likely is still using the 266x20.5 disc

02 or newer will use the 266x22 disc

The reason I ask is I have a horrible grinding noise when I brake. Only happens for first half mile then goes. Sounds like coming from the back, and the handbrake is 10 clicks, which makes it sound like brake adjustment or worn shoes. Don't fancy stripping only to find I have to rebuild to go get some new shoes to come back and fit them. Might as well have them ready.
