The wind has caught my drivers door and it's made a mess of the wing.
My car is a GTi with the Gran Tourisme pack. Its a a 2000W, phase one I believe. I found a wing the same colour (I think) but its on a 1.1L 1999T. Will the wing be the same? I realise I'll have to swap the arch extension over but other than that? Thanks.

Probably not, you see there are 3 kind of wings; sport, non sport and GT ones. Obviously yours will be GT ones and the chances are that the replacement you have found is a non sport.
On related note, this wind is getting stupid now, missed work and opened car door today, big gush of wind blew it open, snapped the check strap and put a crease up my door bloody weather!!

How different are GT ones to sports ones? I assume finding a GT wing may be difficult? Might have to see about getting it repaired rather than replacing it.
Tbh it's my own fault, I should have hung on better, gutting though as I've only had the car two weeks.
Thanks for helping!

GT ones have a lip around the arch, see link
edinburgh.gumtree.com/...cture-zoom
Normal wings don't have them, but sport ones are flared (stick out more) than non sport.
Tbf GT wings are rare as fook so if it can be repaired go for it

Mine look different to that, they have a stuck on lip. That looks like it has an actual lip in the metal? I'll try put a picture on later. I don't think mine is actually a GT, it just has the GT pack IYSWIM? Its diablo red and doesn't have the individual numbering plate on the door pillar.
As of now the wing isn't too bad, but to open the door far enough to remove it is gonna wreck the wing I think. The wind just sprained the door, it closed fine it was when I opened it again the damage was done.

Oh I get you know. Sounds like you only have front and rear bumpers but normal sports wings with arch extensions on. Won't be as hard then, just have a look on eBay

A search on ebay revealed a few wings, even a GT one, but no sports ones in the right colour (that I could see). Will have a better look and try a few local breakers plus I'm getting a price for it repaired. Would imagine the door is going to need new hinges aswell.
Thanks again.

There are only two types of wings, sport and non-sport.
The GT just has a clip on extension on a non-sport wing
