Right,

Got me a headunit and rewired the iso block as my mate before me chopped it off to fit in a metro.

Fitted stereo and it stays on without the key in the ignition. But after about 1 min it cuts out. You can hear a click of a relay under the dash too.

Then to make life more interesting when I open the door, unlock the car it will switch back on.

Seems kinda cool that when I get in the car I have music already but dont want it to be causing problems in the future.

Any suggestions as to what could be causing this?

Wiring is all fine. Checked and double checked the lot.

It's normal.

Just turn the H/U off when you turn the car off.

Really? So the ignition live is not actualy ignition live on these things?

I currently take the faceplate off when I leave but dont wanna be doing that if I am just popping in somewhere. Nor do I want the stereo on.

Stupid design! I may have to re plumb the wires and take it from Cig lighter as that is ignition live and turns off with the key.

It's because your car is multiplexed so it comes on and off when the BSI wakes up or sleeps.

Either put up with it, rewire it, change pins 4 & 6 on the rear [i think] or get the HU settings turned off in the BSI with PP.

It won't ever flatten your battery if thats what you are worried about.

It is partly to do with the battery tbh. I have a sub setup too so all of that stays on and the luck I have with the batteries its gunna drain it one day when I am in a not so good situation lol.

Cheers for clearing it up for me. What is PP?

If it costs money I will just take it from the cig lighter lol

It won't drain the battery at all, the car will go into ECO mode and turn off any non-essential electrics so your car will ALWAYS start.

Yeah PP costs money, its dealer software which is about £500 for gen, and £200 for a decent clone.
