i've bought loads of VW stuff from ebay.de and generally had no issues. in fact, i bought something monday AM and had it wednesday this week. they generally use DPD or DHL and it gets here quick.
it often helps to ask your question via google translate, then perhaps in english in brackets too.
however one time i bought something for £150 and the seller decided they didn't want paypal, but a direct bank transfer. apart from the fact it left me with no buyer protection, it'd have cost £20 to send a CHAPS transfer so we mutually cancelled.
some sellers are wary of foreign buyers using paypal, just as most of us are...

Just be careful buying headlights from europe, they're different to UK/Irish one's since the light is more shining on pedestrians and they're driving on a right hand side etc...

well if its anythng like most other german things, it will probably run alot smoother and more efficient than the uk version

it's only tail lights, I have the head lights in my room waiting patiently to go on
