I've just fitted my vortex wheels, but straight away I've noticed a whistle noise coming from both front wheels.

I've got new flat style wheel bolts
Wheels have have new tyres and are all balanced up.

Any suggestions?

Yes, when breaking it kind of sounds like the engine losing revs (but it's not).

I'm taking it to work tomorrow so hopefully I can investigate further.

Just had it on the ramp at work.

I can't see any signs of rubbing, the wheel spins freely, bearing is quiet.

I haven't got a clue.

They are all new flat style bolts.
Are there two types of the flat style?

Just an idea but if there bigger wheels than before could it be bearing noise if there worn? Ie bigger wheel mor strain? Just a option that's all.

Might be a long shot but do you have the plastic wind deflector clipped on the front wishbones? I was told that they can cause a whistling noise. If you do have them on might be worth just unclipping them and going for a drive to see if the noise goes.

I've never fitted any, but could be. Where in the arch could it be?

I think I have a sticky piston on the NSR caliper, I'm wondering if this could be my noise??
Anyone know if they are easy(ish) to service?
I replaced my rear pads 2 months back, so I know how to wind the piston in.

Or could over tight wheel bolts cause this?
