Hi,

So on the weekend I was looking around the steering column to see if I could get into the indicator controls etc.. Before I did I "shut down" my car and disconnected the battery, I also then re-connected my battery and did a BSI soft start etc once I was done, now my ESP/ASR is giving issues, it keeps giving me ASR/ESP not functioning, I've just reset it again now and still the same..

Help??

2006 206 GTi180, Red.

Before you do anything else, take the car for a spin.
It could just need to reset itself.

The ESP/ASR 'fault' and ABS light on often occurs when on a dyno test too.

The ESP steering angle sensor is built in to the com2000 unit Wink

Have you knocked a plug loose on the back of the com unit OR tampered with the wiring?

Embarassed Embarassed Ahem, yes.. Embarassed
I imagine it's the small plastic pin that sits on the right hand side of the steering wheel and is slotted into the grooves?

New com2000 units for these are very expensive due to the ESP & also are meant to be set up with PPS for the steering angle sensor after fitment.

This was my problem when my steering wheel was'not straight when my wheels where aligned. Had it re-tracked and it was fine.

No just the garage which had changed my tyres and got it wrong. The steering wheel must be absolutely straight when tracked. My steering wheel was at about a 25 degree angle off straight, when the front wheels were straight.
