Ever since I have owned my car it has always had a shake on idle, yet the problem goes away once you drive down the road. It has only ever cut out on idle during very cold weather but the problem is still anonying.

What are the best things to get checked? Peugeot recently diagnosed a misfire but I don't really notice a lot wrong with the car when driving.

Perhaps spark plugs or coil pack? A mate of mine has a tool for the spark plugs if they are easy to replace (probably with Bosch Super 4)

Cool, let me know how ou get on. What price are you looking at for the Coil Pack and Injectors? Just spent £200 on getting it through MOT so may be a few months before I sort this, although spark plugs are cheap to get done.

Just got a quote from Pug for fuel injectors and they want £86 each for the 4!

These ones are only about £18 delivered from Ebay (used).

I just got ripped off by a garage for £170 for one injector fitted after running it through diag.

CD-VRS on here is selling four injectors for a good price!

PM him!

(Using secondhand parts is at your own risk as they come with no kind of warranty but its worth it to save money if the price is right).

Yeah they are scumbags. There is no way it should cost that. I'm never going to go there again.

I'm picking it up today if they actually get it done so i'm not sure of the breakdown.
I know they are charging 40 quid to put it through the fault code reader...

Coil pack is about £110 from pug main dealer new. I got one in Jan becuase of the same problem. Still have the lumpy and shaking on idle when cold, sparks were changed at the same time too.

I cleaned the idle control valve too which eased the problem but didn't cure it.

Been told by others on here it could be the lifters which are around £300 for a genuine set Sad
No one has mentioned that the injectors could be the cause though. Don't know how you would check.

Run it through a fault reader/computer. Most garages charge around £30 - £40 for this but some will do it cheaper.
You can buy them off eBay for about that kind of money too.

In the end I took mine to a garage and paid over the odds (£170) for the injector, labour, and diagnostics.

I had exactly the same problem, lumpy & shaking plus high idle on cold starts. Once the engine was warm she ran like a dream. I changed the coolant sensor & the spark plugs but the problem still remained. Today I fitted a new air temperature sensor & she is perfect. Not saying this will cure your issue, but the air temp sensor is only about £7 so it might be worth changing.

Where did you get an air temp sensor for that price? I'm assuming it is 2nd hand as Pug charge £43

I hope we are talking about the same thing here - the air temp sensor that displays how hot/cold it is and shows up on the dashboard? Mine has been stuck on 42 degrees C for quite some time.
