hi all im new on here so be gental Smile ive noticed the temp gauge only goes 1/4 of the way up the dial, is this normal? thought it should go to 1/2 way when at normal temp, do you think the thermostat will need changing? if so is there a how to, cheers colin

mines a 2l hdi diesel 2001 (y plate)
only has coolant temp and this rarely go's above 70 , usually after a good run about 75.

should be ok then it's just when i had my bmw td i was told if the temp didnt reach half way on the gauge within 5 mins of driving the stat was failing and mpg would be pore Confused

Mine has oil & engine and it's an 02, the oil barely goes above 80 and the engine temp sits around 90

mines 01/Y and i have the 2 gauges

waters normaly around 70 and oil is below the 90 mark Smile

 

2.0 HDI Sport , FMIC , De-cat , lowered 60mm , rear disk converted , Re-mapped

Generally, normal operating temp should be a minimum of 80 and maximum of 90...........less than 80 means a new thermostat is needed.

My 1.4hdi normally sits at just above 80 and just below 90 if i'm pushing it hard up a hill.

1.4 hdi, 206, Year..2003, 100,000 miles

Mercedes, ML270CDI, 2002, 200,000 miles
