I'm having a few problems which I think are being caused by a dodgy blower motor. I've got climate control fitted and recently fans only seem to have two settings, full blast or none at all.

If i use the +/- button to turn the fan speed to full then it works ok, i can slow it down by 1 or 2 presses but after that it just makes a whislting noise and no air comes out. I think this could be down to a knackered blower motor but I don't want to go changing parts without knowing for sure.

Am I right in thinking it's the blower motor or could it be something else? Is there anything I ca do to test it or is it going to be a case of trial and error?

Thanks,

Rich

i have the same problem currently with my standard (non climate controlled) blowers,

with my controls its not the blower motor itsself, its the blower motor resister. its essentially 4 coils of wire, each with a different resistance. depending on what setting you have the blowers on, the circuit runs through different coils. when this goes wrong some of the coils go, meaning that some settings have power and some have none.

im not sure if climate control uses a blower motor resister in the same way? might be worth finding out

its cheap to replace but a hassle to get to, thats why i havnt done mine yet!

Please Dont take any of my posts as written fact. They are simply my opinion and although to the best of my knowledge true, the information within them may well be incorrect.

Any work you undertake as a result of my posts is done so at your own risk Smile
